Think this is just another Easter egg hunt in Oxford? Think again.

Most Easter egg hunts are for kids.

This one? It’s for you.

Treasure Hunt Oxford turns your long weekend into an adventure — packed with cryptic clues, hidden corners, and maybe a quick pub stop along the way.

Whether you’re local or just visiting, it’s a fun excuse to get outside, stretch your legs, and discover some parts of the city you’d usually walk straight past.

Four days off is a gift — and whether the weather plays nice or not, this is the kind of plan that works either way. Coat or T-shirt, boots or sunglasses… just round up your mates and get yourselves into town.

You'll see Oxford's main sights, but the real fun is spotting things you normally wouldn't, and taking the lesser-known alleys around the city.

How does it work? ☠️

Simple. You and your team follow a trail of clues across the city, using your phones as a guide. The clues are sent by Captain Bess — your mildly bossy (but oddly charming) pirate captain — and you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled to spot the answers in the world around you.

It takes around 1½–2½ hours, but there’s no rush. Stop for a coffee. Pause for a pint. Take a detour if something catches your eye. That’s all part of the fun.

Not in Oxford this Easter?

No worries — we’ve got treasure hunts running all over the UK. If you’re off on a city break, check out the full list of locations and pick one that fits your plans.

It’s a great way to get your bearings in a new place — better than another tourist bus or wandering aimlessly in search of decent coffee.

“This treasure hunt is a great way to see the centre of Oxford, have some fun and learn a few things along the way! The riddle-style clues get you thinking and the ‘treasures’ are at all levels, so you see so much more than if you’re just walking around.”
